Indonesia’s Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah won the boys’ singles crown at the 2025 Badminton Asia Junior Championships after defeating China’s Liu Yang Ming Yu in straight games, 21-12, 21-17, in a 43-minute final match held at GOR Manahan Stadium in Surakarta, Central Java, on Sunday (27/7/2025)..
“This is my biggest achievement so far. I dedicate this victory to Indonesia,” he said after the match, beaming with pride following his dominant performance, as reported by antaranews.com.
Ubaidillah’s win marked Indonesia’s first title in this year’s tournament and cements his status as a rising star in Asian badminton. The nation held medal prospects in the mixed doubles final, where the pair Ikhsan Lintang Pramudya/Rinjani Kwinara Nastine will face China’s Chen Jun Ting/Cao Zi Han.
China has already won titles in boys’ doubles, girls’ doubles, and will win girls’ singles, with both finalists representing China.
