Inp.polri.go.id – North Sumatra. The North Sumatra Regional Police held a cross-sectoral coordination meeting for the Eid Al-Fitr security. The meeting was held at the North Sumatra Police Tribrata Hall onThursday (28/3/24). The coordination meeting was led by North Sumatra Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi and attended by other key officials. In the meeting, Agung noted that the security for Eid Al-Fitr, codenamed Ketupat Toba Operation, will be held for 13 days from April 4th, to April 16th, 2024. “This is an operation where we work together with the military and the government in providing security and safety during the Eid Homecoming Season,” says the police chief. “Around 12,092 joint personnel of the military and police, including the regional government, prepared for the operation. We also prepared 89 security posts, 68 service posts, 102 integrated posts, 22 terminals, 18 train stations, 16 ports, 6 airports, 190 shopping centers, 2,670 mosques, and 242 tourist destinations,” Agung continued. Agung and his party estimated that the peak for the current homecoming traffic flow would be on April 6th-8th, while the return flow would be on April 13th-14th. “It is best to go before the predicted date as there’s a high chance of traffic congestion in the 2024 homecoming season,” advised Agung.
