Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Two prominent Indonesian religious organizations, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah, were deemed worthy of the Nobel Prize for their significant roles in fostering tolerance, Timor Leste President Jose Ramos Horta suggested during the Human Fraternity Majlis 2024 event in Abu Dhabi "President Timor Leste Ramos Horta proposed that these two organizations be awarded the Nobel Prize for their substantial contribution to building tolerance. Indonesia's model of tolerance has become a global exemplar," Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said in his statement on Sunday (4/2/2024). His proposal signified global acknowledgment of Indonesia's existence in maintaining national unity based on the principles of tolerance, he said. During his official visit to Abu Dhabi, VP Ma'ruf is scheduled to attend the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity 2024 on Monday (5/2) and witness the awards being presented to NU and Muhammadiyah. The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity is a prestigious accolade that upholds humanitarian values and tolerance. Previously, during his speech at the event, President Timor Leste congratulated NU and Muhammadiyah for their exceptional work in contributing to tolerance and stability in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim country, antaranews.com reported.
