Inp.polri.go.id - Batam.  The  Financial Services Authority (OJK) has announced the resolution of 115 cases involving criminal offenses within the financial sector. "We have now resolved 115 cases since 2016 within OJK, with the majority of these involving banking-related criminal offenses," Tongam L. Tobing, the Head of the Financial Sector Investigation Department at OJK said on Wednesday (25/10/2023) in Batam. In addressing criminal offenses within the financial sector, OJK employs a team of 16 investigators, including 11 individuals from the Indonesian National Police (INP) and five from the Civil Service Investigator (PPNS) sector. "This is a warning to participants in the financial services industry that OJK will continue to combat financial crimes. It also serves as a reminder for them to refrain from engaging in criminal activities within the financial domain," he added. According to Tongam, through the Law on Financial Sector Development and Strengthening, OJK required additional investigative teams to meet the demands of the investigative process. "Crimes within the financial sector are white-collar crimes, and we need additional investigators, especially with the law, which introduces specific investigators from OJK's permanent employees. We are pushing to meet the requirements for our investigators," Tongam explained. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
