One Year Leading, Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Deemed Able to Decrease Criminal Statistics

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Lombok. Chief of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police, Police Inspector General M. Iqbal, which has been lead the force for a year, is deemed to be able to keep public security and order. During his first year, there are many things achieved by the former Chief of Public Relations and Press Division of the Great Headquarters of the Indonesian National Police.

Criminality case handling in NTB always prioritise preemptive and preventive measures, so the statistics are dwindling.

Director of Al Mentra Institute, Karman BM, admitted that several things are achieved under his term. When starting his job in NTB, Iqbal constructs a public perception that police's jobs are not solitaire but has to form a synergy across institutions such as armed forces, local governments, student activist groups, youth, NGOs, and NGOs and regional figures. The actors outside the police are included as a team in ensuring public security and order.

"In building that solid team, he often visited local figure's houses and communicated either direct visitation or by digital means such as Instagram and video call", Karman said on Sunday (30/5/2021).

Karman, a youth activist and NTB people, said that the synergy and collaboration are reflected from programmes conducted such as healthy village and campaign competitions. The two programmes involved all public components facing the Covid-19 pandemic and overseeing safe and peaceful local elections.

"Chief of Regional Police took responsibility on keeping his people alive, their economy thrives, and their political rights fulfilled. It is proved by the successful Covid-19 cases handling, thriving economic activities, and safe and peaceful local elections without any horizontal conflict", he said.

Besides the positive records, in less than five months, Iqbal, known as a friendly person with everyone, managed to secure the Mandalika strategic project with no injury.

It was conducted by forming Mandalika settlement acceleration team consists of few vertical state bodies in NTB such as National Land Agency, Attorneys, Courts, and Local Government.

"This teamwork integrated public legitimacy and legal certainty. The land clearing of Mandalika was running smoothly and had no casualties", he concluded.
