inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. The Yogyakarta Regional Police presented the results of Operation Pekat Progo 2026 in a press conference held at the Yogyakarta Regional Police Headquarters.
During the 10-day operation, the Yogyakarta Regional Police uncovered dozens of cases of street crimes and arrested dozens of suspects.
The Head of Sub-Directorate IV of the Yogyakarta Regional Police's Criminal Investigation Directorate, Superintendent Tri Wiratmo, explained that Operation Pekat Progo 2026 was carried out from February 18 to 27, 2026, throughout Yogyakarta.
"This operation is an independent regional operation that prioritizes law enforcement and education, supported by intelligence activities, to address various forms of street crimes and other disturbances to public order and security," he said, Friday (3/13/2026).
Tri stated that during the operation, the Yogyakarta Regional Police successfully uncovered 55 cases related to various street crimes, including the distribution and sale of alcoholic beverages, illegal drug abuse, prostitution, gambling, possession of sharp weapons, distribution and manufacture of firecrackers, and thuggery.
He emphasized that the success of Operation Pekat Progo 2026 does not mark the end of the police's efforts to create a conducive public order and security situation.
"We will continue to maintain this condition through the intensive patrol and the implementation of Operation Ketupat Progo 2026 to ensure that the public order and security situation in Yogyakarta remains safe and conducive," he explained.
