Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police Traffic Directorate has cracked down on 10,158 motorists during the 2024 Jaya Safety Operation since 4 March 2024. The safety operation is expected to conclude on 17 March 2024. Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi, the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, highlighted the top violations by the motorbike drivers: driving against traffic and not wearing standard SNI helmets. Main violations among car drivers include not wearing seat belts, lane marking violations, using phones while driving, and speeding. In addition to penalties, traffic officers issued 19,903 sympathetic warnings during the operation. Enforcement was carried out using the electronic traffic law enforcement system (ETLE), both static and mobile, from patrol vehicles. The main goal of the 2024 Jaya Safety Operation is to boost awareness, promote responsible driving behavior, and enhance road safety.
