Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. More than 10,715 houses and public facilities were damaged after severe flooding struck East Aceh on 26 November, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) East Aceh confirmed on Sunday (7/12/2025).
The disaster also left 1,200 residents injured.
“Based on our latest data, 10,715 homes and facilities are damaged, and 1,200 people have suffered injuries,” BPBD East Aceh Chief Afifullah said, as cited by antaranews.com.
Floodwaters reached up to three meters across 24 subdistricts and 413 villages, cutting off roads, collapsing bridges, and isolating multiple areas. Medical teams are treating 894 people with minor injuries and 306 with serious wounds at functioning health centers and emergency posts.
Damage includes 3,823 heavily damaged units, 3,316 moderately damaged, and 3,576 lightly damaged. The disaster has disrupted economic activity, schooling, and essential public services.
More than 235,000 residents were affected, with over 204,000 displaced across 820 evacuation sites. Emergency efforts remain hindered by power outages, fuel shortages, and limited rubber boats.
