The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Ariasandy, explained that the development of digital technology provides convenience and also presents threats to children. Therefore, parental supervision and guidance are necessary to ensure children use social media safely and wisely.

"We urge and encourage the entire community, especially parents, to not be negligent in supervising their children while surfing social media," explained Ariasandy on Sunday (8/30/2026).

Lack of supervision can open the door to various threats to children in cyberspace. These risks include cyberbullying, exposure to immoral content, online fraud, and even exploitation and violence against children.

The Bali Regional Police encourage parents to establish open communication with their children regarding social media use. Furthermore, parents can regulate device usage time, monitor them wisely, and educate them about the importance of protecting personal data.

"Let's look after our children together, care for each other, and protect them from potential dangers in cyberspace to create a healthy, wise, and character-based next generation," he added.

The Bali Regional Police also reaffirmed their commitment to conducting cyber patrols to maintain a conducive digital space within their jurisdiction. The role of families remains key in protecting children from various cybercrime threats.
