Dr. Soetomo General Hospital predicts that diseases dominating the Year-End Holiday season will be the metabolic diseases or disorders.President Director of Dr. Soetomo Regional General Hospital Surabaya, Cita Rosita Sigit Prakoeswa, revealed that all services are on standby in anticipation of it.

“Such diseases are pneumonia, diabetes, hypertension and others alike,” says Cita.

She said that the current medical emergencies preparation during the Christmas and New Year holiday season is based on trends from previous years, which would still be dominated by metabolic disorders.

“In actuality, it’s not the traffic accident victims that dominate the number of our patients. However, we are still ready to anticipate them also,” continued Cita.

In total, Cita says that Soetomo General Hospital is preparing 600 medical personnel, from administration to health workers, in anticipation of patient numbers spiking with the predicted number of patients according to daily IGD services of around 110 patients.
