Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) has issued a stern condemnation against all forms of sexual and physical violence within national training camps. 

“I am deeply concerned by the alleged harassment occurring in these sports; such actions are intolerable, especially when directed at athletes who are representing our nation on the international stage,” said Perbasi Secretary General Nirmala Dewi in Jakarta on Wednesday (11/3/2026). 

Responding to s recent allegations of misconduct within the sport climbing and kickboxing disciplines, which are currently under investigation by law enforcement authorities, she said that athletes deserve absolute protection to maintain their safety and focus during intensive training.

Nirmala further supported the stance of the Minister of Youth and Sports, urging that proven perpetrators be banned from the sporting community and face severe legal consequences. Perbasi also appreciated the rapid response from the Ministry, the Indonesian National Police (INP), and the House of Representatives  (DPR)in addressing these reports, framing the incident as a critical reminder for all federations to tighten supervision.
