Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Petrokimia Volleyball Academy Gresik women's team won the Nusantara Cup 2024 volleyball championship after defeating Kharisma Bandung 3-1 (17-25, 25-18, 25-15, 26-24) in the final match in Yogyakarta on Saturday night (23/3/2024). Initially, Petrokimia Gresik struggled against Kharisma Bandung's relentless attacks, trailing by two points at the interval of the first set (11-9). However, they bounced back in the second set, taking a commanding six-point lead at the interval (11-5) and eventually winning it 25-18. In the third set, Petrokimia Gresik maintained their dominance, securing an eight-point lead towards the end (19-11) and closing the set with a comfortable 25-15 victory. Despite a strong push from Kharisma Bandung in the fourth set, Petrokimia Gresik managed to equalize at 24-24 and clinch the set 26-24, securing the championship with a 3-1 win. Petrokimia Gresik coach Shobirin acknowledged his team's declining stamina but praised their resilience towards the end of the match. On the other hand, Kharisma Bandung coach Roy Nanlohi expressed regret over his team's missed opportunities in the final moments of the fourth set. With this victory, Petrokimia Gresik claimed the championship title and received a prize of Rp 30 million, while Kharisma Bandung finished as the runners-up, earning Rp 20 million. Elang Laut secured third place by defeating Vita Solo in the third-place match. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
