inp.polri.go.id – Mataram. Murtede or also known as Amaq Sinta, who was a victim of a robbery that identified as suspect previously by the police, feels relieved. This is due to the 34-year-old man from Ganti Village, Central Lombok, was finally released from the legal process. Yesterday the NTB Police (Polda NTB) issued a warrant for the termination of the case. NTB Police Chief (Kapolda NTB) Inspector General Drs. Djoko Poerwanto explained that the decision to stop the case was made after his party held an open case which was attended by police officers and legal experts. "Based on the results of the trial, we concluded that the incident was an act of forced self-defense, no elements of unlawful acts were found, both formally and materially," said Kapolda NTB to reporters on Saturday (16/04/22). This also refers to the Regulation of the National Police Chief Number 6 of 2019 Article 30 regarding the investigation of criminal acts. The article states that the termination of an investigation can be implemented for the sake of legal certainty, benefit, and justice. "The incident carried out by Amaq Sinta in self-defense is as stated in Article 49 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code regarding forced defense," said the NTB Police Chief. Meanwhile, the Head of the National Police Public Relations Division (Kadiv Humas Polri), Inspector General Dr. Dedi Prasetyo, M.Hum., M.Si., M.M., emphasized that the termination of the case was to promote the principles of justice, legal certainty, and especially the benefits of law for the community. "In this case, the National Police prioritizes the principles of proportionality, legality, accountability and necessity," explained Kadiv Humas Polri. As reported on last Saturday night (9/4/22), Murtede was intercepted by four robbers in Ganti Village, East Praya. Murtede, who was robbed, brawled with four robbers in desperation. Murtede to defense himself but in the act of self-defense he killed two robbers. After the police heard of this case, he was instead arrested and was made a suspect in a murder case, and sparked a huge commotion in the community.
