inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. Bandung Sub-regional City Police is handling a murder case of a man killing his stepfather in Ciapus Village, West Java on Monday (5/5/2025) for not allowing to borrow the victim's motorbike.
Bandung Sub-regional City Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Aldi Subartono said the case started with an argument between the perpetrator, with the initials of RT, and the victim when he asked to borrow his motorbike.
"The perpetrator wanted to borrow the victim's motorbike, but was not allowed. This sparked an argument, and caused the perpetrator to hit the victim repeatedly on the back of the head using a wooden block," said Aldi in Bandung Regency, quoted by Antaranews on Wednesday (5/7/2025).
Aldi explained that the victim, with the initials ES (61), who was the perpetrator's stepfather, died at the scene due to serious injuries to the head.
Not only that, the perpetrator also committed violence against his biological mother, ES (57), who suffered injuries from being pushed and bitten.
"The perpetrator was immediately secured by local residents after the incident and handed over to the police. We immediately conducted a crime scene investigation, took the victim's body to the hospital, and conducted an autopsy," he said.
Aldi said that the perpetrator was known to be a recidivist who often caused trouble in the neighborhood. The victim's refusal to lend the motorbike was allegedly due to fear that the vehicle would be pawned or misused by the perpetrator.
For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 44 Paragraph 2 and 3 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence (KDRT), and/or Article 338 of the Criminal Code, and/or Article 351 Paragraph 2 and 3 of the Criminal Code, with a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
