“Suspect M is a 39 years old man who teaches religious subjects in school and also an employee,” says South Tangerang Sub-regional Police Deputy Chief, Police Assistant Superintendent Rizkyadi Saputro on Thursday (10/3/2024).

Police investigation reveals that the immoral act was first started on August 16th in one of the places of worship and football field in Maruga Village. There, he molested a 12 year old with the initials of G (12), S (14), and P (17).

“The case was revealed after G later report M and told the sexual abuse to a witness with the initials of S (22),” says Rizkyadi.

Hearing the shocking story, S called the children who were taught by M since 2021.

“Then, it was revealed there are other five girls with the initials of A (17), T (13), C (16), F (17), and C (16) who were also molested by M since 2021,” continued Rizkyadi.

According to him, S also heard the story from S (14) and P (17) where they were molested in around August - September.

“After knowing eight girls were molested by M, witness S told the parents of the victims about the incident. They then reported the case to the police on Sunday (9/29/2024),” Rizkyadi said. Suspect M was then arrested in Serua by South Tangerang Regional Police and East Ciputat Sector Police.

Rizkyadi added that according to M, the immoral acts were carried out in a number of different locations, namely a place of worship, a football field, and at a cell phone repair business owned by the suspect, all of which are located in Serua, Ciputat District, South Tangerang City.

Suspect M was charged with Article 81 and/or Article 82 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2016 concerning Perppu RI Number 1 of 2016 concerning the second amendment to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection into Law and/or Article 6 of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence (TPKS).
