inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The number of perpetrators in the international human trafficking (TPPO) syndicate selling babies from Indonesia to Singapore has increased by one. To date, only 13 people have been arrested by members of the West Java Regional Police's Criminal Investigation Directorate.

"Previously we announced that the number of suspects was 12, but now it is 13. We are still developing the case, as we will certainly pursue the suspect in Singapore. We are pursuing this to uncover a broader network," said the Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Hendra Rochmawan, Wednesday (17/16/2025).

"His role is as a shelter," he added.

To determine the whereabouts of the 24 babies already in Singapore, the Head of Public Relations will coordinate with Interpol.

"We will do so. We have already communicated with the Vice Regional Police Chief and the Indonesian National Police Headquarters. Hopefully, it will be revealed soon," said the Head of Public Relations.

As previously reported, of the 12 suspects arrested, one was male and the rest were female. Police recovered six babies from the suspects. One was from Pontianak and the other was from Karawang.
