Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Drug Investigation Unit of North Jakarta Regional Metro Police held a press revealing the uncovering of marijuana drug flow case. On last January 6th, 2024, police have arrested a suspect with the initials of MJT who sold marijuana in front of Laguna Apartment, Pluit, North Jakarta. Of the arrest, police confiscated a six kilogram of weed, says the Drug Investigation Unit Chief of North Jakarta Regional Metro Police, Superintendent Prasetyo Nugroho on Thursday (1/25/2024). Following his examination, MJT admits that the got the weed from another suspect with the initial of R. “According to MJT, the weed was transported through expeditions to the locations they agreed upon. The package was then put inside a machine box after communicating with a person initialled R,” said the police. Prasetyo says that the weed received by MJT was from Aceh drug syndicate ring and was to be sold in Jakarta. “From what we heard, the weed is from Medan or Aceh, which were then transported to Jakarta through sea. The drugs will then be spread around West Jakarta, Palmerah, Rawasari, and other regions. As for R, we are still in pursuit,” Prasetyo continued. Meanwhile, Prasetyo states that MJT will be charged with Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics carries a minimum sentence of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years. (ad/rd/pr/nm)
