Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The police have arrested  the suspect in the fatal burning of a four-year-old toddler in a rented home in Kosambi, Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday morning (29/4/2025) in Tasikmalaya, West Java.

“The suspect was secured at 6:30 a.m. in Taraju District, Tasikmalaya,” said Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi, in Jakarta.

The arrest was carried out by a joint team from the Tangerang City Sub-regional Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit and the Metro Jaya Police’s violent crime units. Police confirmed that the suspect, identified as HB (38), a security guard at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, had a close relationship with the victim’s mother.

“The motive is under investigation, but there was a romantic link between the suspect and the mother,” Chief Ade Ary said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The victim, identified as MA, was found dead inside a locked house after the mother, identified as F, searched for her child. Investigators had earlier identified HB as the prime suspect.
