The Directorate General of Criminal Investigation of North Sulawesi Regional Police and the General Criminal Investigation Unit of Bitung Sub-Regional Police have reported the arrest of two additional suspects in connection with the recent clash in Bitung City. Police Senior Superintendent Iis Kristian, Head of North Sulawesi Regional Police's Public Relations, delivered the update during a press conference in Bitung on Monday (27/11/23). He said that the newly arrested suspects, identified as OK and IG, are linked to the incident at crime scene 1 involving the victim named Anto. "With the addition of these two suspects, the total number of individuals in custody has risen from seven to nine as of Monday night," he said. The arrests took place in different locations, with the first suspect, OK, arrested in Tomohon City, and the second suspect, IG, arrested in Minahasa Regency, he added. Highlighting the alleged involvement of the suspects in maltreatment and ambulance vandalism at Crime Scene 1, he emphasized that the police continue to encourage those at large to surrender.
