inp.polri.go.id - West Java. Personnel from the Mobile Crime Investigation Unit of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police have arrested two perpetrators, identified as ANR and ME, who stabbed a student in Cipayung, Depok.

The incident resulted in the victim sustaining serious injuries to his head, ear, and back. 

"The perpetrators of the stabbing, identified as ANR and ME, were successfully apprehended on Friday, February 6, 2026, along with evidence in the form of sharp weapons and video footage of the incident," said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, as reported by Sinpo.id, Tuesday (2/17/2026).

Budi explained that the victim was stabbed while trying to buy cigarettes. Local residents immediately shouted at the perpetrators, calling them thieves. As a result, both were arrested and handed over to the police. 

"The perpetrators were shouted at as thieves and were arrested," he said.

The police are currently investigating the perpetrator's motives, and he has been charged with multiple offenses, including gang assault, assault, and possession of a sharp weapon, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

They will be processed under the Juvenile Criminal Justice System Law.
