inp.polri.go.id - Lembang. Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) emphasized that the Indonesian National Police (INP) has a strategic role in overseeing national development to ensure it runs safely, smoothly, and provides tangible benefits to the community.

According to AHY, collaboration between INP and the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development is necessary to secure strategic projects, maintain connectivity, and strengthen legal certainty in development implementation.

AHY made this statement while speaking at the National Dialogue at the Sespim (Commission and Training Center) of the Indonesian National Police Education and Training Institute (Lemdiklat Polri) in Lembang, West Java, on Tuesday (10/27/2026).

"So, we shouldn't just think about building more, but building more that is beneficial and impactful for the community," said Coordinating Minister AHY.

AHY explained that development success cannot be measured solely by the amount of infrastructure built. Development must also be able to create security, facilitate community activities, protect citizens' rights, and open economic opportunities that impact a better welfare.

To achieve this, the cooperation between INP and the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure includes securing strategic projects, smooth logistics distribution, strengthening governance and legal certainty, and early detection of potential development disruptions.

This collaboration is also considered crucial to anticipate conflicts over land use, social risks, project obstacles, and disruptions to public services.

One issue that has drawn AHY's attention is the eradication of land mafia. This effort is considered crucial to protect community rights while providing legal certainty.

Furthermore, AHY highlighted the regulation of over-dimension and overloaded vehicles (ODOL). He believes this measure is necessary to maintain road health, improve road user safety, and facilitate the distribution of goods.

"We are often saddened by the news, reading about a family being hit by an overloaded truck," he said.

AHY also emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral cooperation in improving transportation safety, especially in the lead-up to the Eid al-Fitr and Christmas and New Year season. Coordination is necessary to maintain smooth public mobility, train safety, and logistics distribution across various modes of transportation.

Moreover, AHY encouraged the strengthening of preventive and early detection measures, along with a service approach that prioritizes the interests of the community. He hoped that the presence of the police would not only maintain security and order, but also provide a sense of security and support the equitable distribution of development benefits.

"Police with the community, I believe this is not just a slogan, but must become a spirit," he emphasized.
