inp.polri.go.id - Sleman. The police have successfully uncovered a case of alleged criminal acts of indecency against 22 children committed by EDW, 29 years old, a resident of Godean.

Gamping Sector Police Chief, Police Senior Inspector Sandro Dwi Rahadian, said that initially on Tuesday (10/9/2024) at around 01.00 WIB, it was discovered that there had been an incident of indecent acts of the same sex against minor committed by the perpetrator EWD at his house in Gamping.

"Initially, the reporter learned about the act from the first witness through video where EDW committed the act against his own biological child," he said on Friday (10/11/2024).

In his statement, he said that the 22 victims of the indecent act consisted of six males aged 17-19 years, three children aged 13 years, and the rest of the 13 are toddlers.

Due to the sexual abuse and their association with the perpetrator over the past month, the victims experienced a change in attitude and behavior. Even after school, the victims often did not return home, but went straight to the perpetrator's residence.

In addition, the victim also often did not return home at a reasonable time, and also often brought rice or food for EDW.

Police explains that the motive behind the EDW’s molestations against minors are purely for his own satisfaction.

"For EDW's actions, officers from the Sleman Sub-regional City Police Criminal Investigation Unit have conducted an investigation, while suspect EDW has been ocked behind the bars of Gamping Sector Police Detention Center," he explained.

EDW was subject to Article 82 paragraph (1) of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning the Stipulation of Perpu Number 1 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection into Law in conjunction with Article 64 of the Criminal Code or Article 292 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 of the Criminal Code.

"For his actions, EDW is subject to a maximum sentence of 15 years of imprisonment," he concluded.
