Minister Sandiaga Uno Visits Labengki Island Tourism Village and Symbolically Handed Over Kima Boe Shellfish

inp.polri.go.id - Kendari. Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno visited North Konawe to see firsthand the potential of nature, culture and attractions of the Labengki Island Tourism Village. During his visit, he  also handed over Kima Boe to be cultivated.

Labengki Island Tourism Village has successfully entered the top 50 best tourist villages in Indonesia at the 2024 Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) from a total of 6,016 tourist villages registered through the official platform of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

"This event also plays an important role in encouraging the development of sustainable tourism that has a positive impact on the village economy and environmental sustainability. In this way, Labengki Island Tourism Village will further strengthen its position as one of the leading tourist destinations in Southeast Sulawesi," he said on Friday (10/11/24).

Furthermore, he said that each region has its own uniqueness, characteristics. However, Minister Uno saw that his experience in visiting Labengki Island Tourism Village was extraordinary and enjoyable.

Meanwhile, Acting Regent of North Konawe, La Ode Saifuddin, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno for his visit to the Labengki tourist village.

"His visit will be a motivation for the Konut Regency in encouraging the tourism sector to continue to be creative and innovative," he explained.

During his visit to Labengki, Minister Sandiaga Uno also symbolically handed over to the Acting Regent of North Konawe La Ode Saifuddin as the community will cultivate the shellfish under the sea in Labengki.

This Kima Boe is the 2nd largest shellfish in the world after shellfish from Japan. Its size is approximately 20 kilograms and 1/2 meter long.
