Police Deploy 128 Personnel for Mount Ruang Eruption Relief Efforts

Inp.polri.go.id - Manado. North Sulawesi Regioal Police Chief Inspector General Yudhiawan Wibisono announced on Tuesday (23/4/2024) that 128 police officers are deployed to areas affected by the recent eruption of Mount Ruang in Tagulandang, Sitaro Islands Regency. 

The team, comprising Mobile Brigade, Water and AIr Police, the Health Unit, and local police, remains on standby for further assistance, he said.

They have played a crucial role in clearing volcanic debris from vital locations like ports and roads, while also providing essential aid and medical support, as reported by antaranews.com.

North Sulawesi Police provided significant aid, including 3.5 tons of rice, 200 boxes of noodles, 250 trays of eggs, 150 boxes of canned fish, and 300 boxes of mineral water, along with a water treatment vehicle.

Mount Ruang erupted on 16 April 2024  following increased seismic activity.
