Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police deployed 760 joint officers from the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police, Central Jakarta Police, and local police offices to secure public demonstrations across three key locations in Central Jakarta on Monday (7/9/2026).
Despite widespread volcanic ashfall from Mount Anak Krakatau affecting air quality and road visibility across the capital, police secured rallies at the Gambir area, the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) headquarters on Jalan Latuharhary, and the House of Representatives (DPR/) building complex.
Central Jakarta Police Head of Public Information Subsection First Inspector Erlyn Sumantri confirmed the strategic deployment, noting rallies led by the North Sumatra Youth and Student Association and former employees of PT Hillconjaya Sakti.
"Officers were deployed to maintain public order and address potential traffic disruptions while advising demonstrators and commuters to wear protective masks and eyewear against volcanic ash exposure," she said.
