inp.polri.go.id - South Sumatra. Police have named suspects in the alleged corruption case surrounding the Prabumulih Central Technical Implementation Unit (UPTP) Vocational Training Center (BLK) construction project. This step was taken after more than a year of investigation and prosecution.

The Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the South Sumatra Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Bagus Suropratomo Oktobrianto, confirmed the suspect designation. However, he did not specify the number of suspects or their identities.

"Yes, we have named suspects in this case. However, we cannot disclose the number and names yet," he said when contacted on Monday (8/25/2025).

This case began with a public report received in October 2023. The report concerned alleged irregularities in the Prabumulih UPTP BLK building construction project managed by the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration.

The audit results from the Financial and Development Audit Agency (BPKP) were key in developing the case. The audit found potential state losses of up to IDR 7.2 billion.

The Prabumulih UPTP BLK building construction project itself used the 2022 budget. It is located in Gunung Ibul Village, East Prabumulih District, Prabumulih City.

The project's budget ceiling reached IDR 29.8 billion. This project is part of a national program to improve workforce competency through the construction of job training facilities.

However, allegations of irregularities in the project's implementation process began to emerge. Indications of work not conforming to the work contract, alleged budget markups, and allegations of administrative manipulation began to emerge during the investigation.

Investigators suspect a conspiracy between the project implementers and individuals within the ministry and other related parties.

Although details of the involvement have not been disclosed, internal sources say investigators have mapped the roles of each party suspected of being responsible for this alleged corruption.

The next step, investigators will immediately conduct a follow-up case title to determine the exact number of suspects and prepare official summonses for them.
