inp.polri.go.id - East Java. Police dispatched the bloodhounds from the East Java Regional Police's K9 Unit in the search for the perpetrator of a murder in Arjosari District, Pacitan Regency, East Java.

The wanted suspect initials is AS, who is suspected of committing a murder in Drono Hamlet, Temon Village, Arjosari District.

Pacitan Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Ayub Diponegoro Azhar, explained that the involvement of bloodhounds is expected to narrow the scope of movement of the perpetrator who is suspected of still hiding in the forest around the village.

"Since Tuesday morning at around 08.30 am, we have dispatched our K9 unit from the East Java Regional Police to search for the whereabouts of the murder suspect," said Ayub via text message, reported by Kompas on Tuesday (9/23/2025).

On the occasion, he added that the K9 dogs have undergone special training and have proven effective in assisting police duties, especially in cases that require tracking.

"Our bloodhounds are trained to detect traces, so it is hoped that they can speed up the arrest of the suspect," he explained.

Until now, the joint military and police team, together with the community, are still combing the forest around the location of the incident. The authorities also continue to urge the denizens to remain vigilant and immediately report if they see suspicious movements.

"We urge the community to immediately report if they find signs of the perpetrator," he explained.

AS is a wanted murderer after committing atrocious attack agains his former in-law family. Reports said that he attacked his ex-wife and her family after hearing the news that she was about to remarry another person.

As a result of the attack, the mother of his ex-wife died due to serious injury on the neck while the wife and her sisters were treated at hospital.
