Police Emphasize Commitment in Eradicating Drug Crimes in North Sumatra

inp.polri.go.id - North Sumatra. The North Sumatra Regional Police Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate Unit, continues to strengthen drug eradication efforts by uncovering Money Laundering (TPPU) practices originating from narcotics crimes.

The Director of the North Sumatra Regional Police Drugs Criminal Investigation, Senior Superintendent Jean Calvijn Simanjuntak, revealed that his unit is currently handling four TPPU cases closely related to drug trafficking.

"For the Money Laundering case, we have currently conducted an investigation and inquiry process into four TPPU cases," he said on Friday (9/26/2025).

On this occasion, he revealed that the suspects caught in the TPPU case include KE, SNA who is KE's wife, and RR who plays a role in controlling tens of kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in the North Sumatra region.

Previously, the Vice Director of Narcotics Investigation at the North Sumatra Regional Police, Superintendent Diari Astetika, also emphasized that in the past two years his team had handled two money laundering cases closely related to drugs.

"During 2025, we secured approximately 1.3 tons of crystal methamphetamine. In uncovering this case, we have also handled two money laundering cases," said Diari on Thursday (9/11/2025).

Diari explained that the handling of the money laundering case took place from 2024 to 2025/

"In 2024, there was one case. Then in 2025, there was one case. More details will be explained later," she explained.
