inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Iman Imanuddin, emphasized that all actions taken by members of the "Robber Hunter" Team are following all regulations.

This statement was in response to concerns raised by several parties regarding the potential for repressive actions by the "Robber Hunter" Team, formed by the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, which has used firearms in several arrests of robbers around Jakarta.

"Our actions are following the Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief's regulations, the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), and the Criminal Code (KUHP). This is, of course, to ensure that every law enforcement effort and action taken by us as law enforcement officers respects human rights," explained Iman on Friday (5/22/2026).

He added that shootings against robbers are only carried out in situations that endanger public safety or the safety of officers.

Iman stated that firm and measured action was onlytaken against suspects using firearms.

"This was calculated based on the safety risks to the public in the vicinity of the action or arrest, as well as the safety of our officers. Of course, that was one of the considerations behind our efforts," he explained.
