inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Mobile Brigade Corps of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police thwarted brawls in three different locations early Friday (5/22/2026). Eighteen people were apprehended during the patrol.
Henik Maryanto, Head of the Mobile Brigade Corps of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, stated that the patrols that thwarted the brawls were conducted in Penggilingan, Cakung, East Jakarta; Koja, North Jakarta; and Setu, South Tangerang.
Police seized several pieces of evidence at the locations, including sickles, machetes, golf clubs, cell phones, motorcycles, and bottles filled with acid.
In Penggilingan, he said, a joint patrol by personnel from the B Pioneer Battalion of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Mobile Brigade Corps and the East Jakarta Sub-regional Metropolitan Police Precision Pioneer Team apprehended five teenagers.
The five teenagers were suspected of being involved in the brawl on Pisangan street, Penggilingan, Cakung.
Meanwhile, in Koja, he revealed, personnel from Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police broke up a brawl at around 3:35 a.m. Four youths were arrested along with 11 sickles and one cellphone as evidence.
At almost the same time, he explained, the Jakarta Regional Metro Police also thwarted a brawl on Puspitek Raya street, Setu Village, South Tangerang. They secured nine people along with four sickles, one machete, one bottle filled with acid, and three motorcycles as evidence.
He emphasized that the patrol was conducted to prevent disturbances to public order and security, particularly during the dangerous hours of night and early morning.
"Personnel conducting patrols immediately take police action when they discover or receive reports of potential brawls. This swift action is taken to prevent casualties and maintain public safety," said Henik, Friday (5/22/2026).
Henik urged the public, especially parents, to increase supervision of the activities of children and adolescents. She also urged residents to immediately report any potential brawls or disturbances to public order.
"If the public observes potential brawls or other disturbances to public order, report them immediately to the nearest police station or call the 110 hotline service for immediate action," he explained.
