Badung Sub-regional Police are examining 10 from the 30 suspects who attacked 15 members of Company A of the 900th Infantry Battalion Satya Bhakti Wirottama during a futsal match in Kerobokan Futsal Field. The 10 suspects were brought to Badung Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit on Wednesday (2/7/2024) night, moments after the attack. Police Superintendent Teguh Priyo Wasono confirms that the 10 suspects are being intensively examined by the investigators to find the motive and roles of the suspects. We have secured the 10 suspects from the futsal team who threw the stone. Currently we are trying to find out the whole chronology behind the story,” says Badung Sub-regional Police Chief Teguh on Friday (2/9/2024). According to Teguh, police suspects that the incident began due to miscommunication between the instigators and the military futsal team. It then escalated to violence as the instigators threw stones and attacked the military members. “Based on our initial investigations result, there was a miscommunication that caused the instigators to throw the stone and it hit a futsal player from the military side,” said Teguh in his closing explanations.
