Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Police reveal recent traffic jams that recently often occurred in Jakarta. The traffic jams have become a nuisance for the general public as they feel it is more often than usual. The Traffic Director of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Superintendent M. Latif Usman says that the traffic jam occurred due to the people’s activity during the end of Ramadan. As Ramadan is close to end, many of them go out to hold an iftar with friends. “This is a yearly phenomenon of Ramadan where people go out as Ramadan is nearing its end. They also tend to break their fast outside,” says Latif on Friday (4/5/2024). On the other hand, the flooding in several locations is also the reason why traffic jams in Jakarta are more frequent than usual. “But I am sure, it will soon be over,” says Latif. (ad/ay/pr/nm)
