In the press conference, the Director of Criminal Investigation of the Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police, Senior Superintendent M. Rivai Arvan, revealed the results of the investigation into the murder of the Chief Editor of the online media outlet Okeyboz.com on Wednesday (8/13/2025).

Rivai Arvan explained the chronology of the incident, the motive for the murder, and the identities of the perpetrators. Furthermore, Rivai also outlined the efforts made by the Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police to investigate the case and apprehend the perpetrator, who had fled to South Sumatra.

The suspects are two friends from South Sumatra: Hasan Basri, also known as Abas (34), who worked as a gardener for the victim and was the mastermind behind the premeditated murder; and Martin (34), who carried out the murder and stole the victim's car, which he then planned to sell to his friend in South Sumatra.

This press conference aims to provide accurate information to the victim's family, the public, and the media about the murder case. Through transparency and openness, the Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police hope to bolster public trust in the police institution.
