inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police appealed to demonstrators protesting the 2026 National Education Day commemoration to express their opinions peacefully and to avoid being easily provoked.
"We urge you to remain orderly and peaceful, refrain from carrying any potentially dangerous objects, and remain prudent in responding to the dynamics on the ground. Let's work together to keep Jakarta safe and conducive," said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police.
He stated that expressing opinions in public is a citizen's right protected by law. However, its implementation must still consider the safety, order, and comfort of others.
"The point is, we are here to serve. We hope that the 2026 National Education Day protests will proceed safely and orderly, and that our aspirations will be conveyed effectively," he said, Monday (5/4/2026).
The police also prioritized a humanistic and persuasive approach in serving the demonstrators. Personnel are also deployed to regulate traffic, guard objects, provide warnings, and anticipate potential disturbances to public order and security.
"We emphasize to all personnel to act persuasively and humanely. The presence of the National Police is to ensure that the public can express their aspirations safely, without disrupting public order," he said.
It is known that 3,545 personnel are deployed to secure demonstrations commemorating National Education Day (Hardiknas) 2026, which are taking place at several locations in Jakarta today.
