Police Mapped Vulnerable Polling Stations in Serang City

Inp.polri.go.id – Serang. The Sub-regional City Police of Serang City reveals there are doznes of polling stations in the city which are considered vulnerable to conflicts. The police chief, Senior Superintendent Sofwan Hermanto further separates the definition of vulnerable locations to three categories, which are vulnerable to floods, vulnerable to conflicts, and vulnerable to blankspot. “From the three vulnerable categories, six are prone to floods, 74 are prone to conflicts due to their location which are near to legislative campaign team supporter basecamp, and several others are prone to blankspot,” said Sofwan quoted from Antaranews on Monday (2/12/2024). However, police still could not determine the location which are considered to be the danger zone in Serang City. Sofwan ensures that various methods and anticipation measures have been designed and implemented in anticipating security disturbances. Furthermore, Sofwan admits that his party have coordinated with the military to strengthen security forces in sector police and sub-regional police HQs. “For example, there may be unexpected scenario where the safe polling stations turned violent where have to reinforce the area with more troops,” said Sofwan. By the end of occassion, Sofwan also adds that there are a total of 558 Indonesian National Police (INP) assigned personnel who will guard 2,979 polling stations in Serang City. (ad/fa/pr/nm)
