Natuna Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Novyan Aries Efendie, stated that this service is provided to prevent theft during the Eid homecoming period, when people are away from home for extended periods.

"For people planning to return home, please leave your vehicle or other valuables at our police station. This service is free of charge, and we guarantee the security of your stored items," explained Novyan on Monday (3/16/2026).

In addition to providing vehicle storage services, the police also urge the public to remain vigilant against various potential crimes, such as fraud and theft.

According to Novyan, the public is also advised to be wise in using social media, especially not to post information that could indicate that the house is empty.

He added that home security should be a primary concern before leaving. The public is asked to ensure their homes are securely locked and to check the condition of electrical appliances and kitchen appliances, such as stoves, to ensure they are secure.

Furthermore, those planning a long journey by private vehicle are advised to check their vehicle's condition beforehand to ensure safety during the trip.

"Ensure your vehicle is in good condition and roadworthy so that your homecoming trip can be safe and smooth," said Novyan. He also reminded the public that anyone needing assistance or information can contact the nearest police station or the police hotline 110, which operates 24 hours a day.
