inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A number of student elements from various campuses plan to hold an action to convey their opinions in the South Medan Merdeka Street area, Monas, Central Jakarta, Friday (6/12/2026).
Jakarta Regional Metro Police together with the Indonesian Military (TNI) prepared personnel to guard the action.
Head of Public Relations of Jakarta Regional Metro Police, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto said that 4,151 joint personnel were prepared to secure the action. In detail, 3,651 police personnel, and 500 TNI personnel.
He ensured that the police respected the public's right to express opinions in public. Budi said that security was carried out to ensure that activities were carried out safely, orderly and did not interfere with other community activities.
"We respect the rights of citizens to express opinions in public. The presence of personnel in the field is to provide services and security so that activities run safely, orderly and do not disturb other communities," said Budi.
He added that the police were also preparing anticipatory steps for a number of dynamics in the field, ranging from traffic congestion, vehicle convoys, situational road closures, disruption of public facilities, to potential criminal acts.
Budi also appealed to the action participants not to carry dangerous objects, not to cause damage, and to continue to respect road users and the community around the location of the action.
"We urge the action participants to remain orderly, not to carry dangerous objects, not to cause damage, and to work together to keep the situation conducive," he explained.
He further stated that police were also preparing situational traffic arrangements around the location of the action. Vehicle flow engineering will be implemented according to conditions in the field.
"We prepare traffic arrangements situationally. If there is congestion or there is a need to divert traffic around the action location, officers will carry out traffic engineering while still prioritizing the safety of the action participants and the road users," he said.
