inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate is preparing to reinstate its mobile enforcement system (hunting system) for drivers who intentionally cover or alter their Motor Vehicle Registration Plates (TNKB) using tape or stickers.

"Going forward, we will definitely reinstate the hunting system for certain violations, including TNKB violations," said Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Traffic Director Brigadier General Komarudin when confirmed in Jakarta on Friday (7/24/2026).

He emphasized the need for increased enforcement measures given the rise in street crimes using similar methods, namely intentionally altering, covering, or even removing vehicle license plates when committing crimes.

"Currently, the police are still issuing warnings and sanctions, urging violators to immediately restore their vehicle license plates in accordance with applicable law," Komarudin said.

He also assured motorists that they need not feel anxious or afraid of manual ticketing or Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) as long as they obey traffic laws.

According to Komarudin, public compliance while driving is a key factor in creating order, smooth traffic flow, and safety for themselves and other road users.

"Motorists need not be afraid of ETLE or ticketing as long as they obey traffic laws, which is also a key factor in ensuring smooth traffic flow and safety for themselves and others on the road," said Komarudin.
