inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police has deployed hundreds of personnel to assist with VVIP-level security during the peak event of the 2577 Chinese New Year Festival at Lapangan Banteng tonight. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka will attend the event.

"Security measures are being implemented to the best of our ability. The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia is also planned to attend," said Police Assistant Superintendent Robby Hefados, Head of the Operations Division of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate, on Saturday (2/28/2026).

According to Robby, security will be in place from 3:00 PM until the peak event. A total of 750 police personnel will be deployed at various locations.

"We, from the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate, have prepared approximately 150 personnel for traffic personnel and approximately 600 personnel from regional offices," he explained.

According to Robby, traffic diversions are likely to occur during the Chinese New Year parade this afternoon. The route will be adjusted to begin in front of the Cathedral Church, heading towards the Adipura Monument, then turn right towards the Ministry Building.

Parade will then proceed to the Post Office, heading towards Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara, until they reach the Lapangan Banteng Barat entrance.

"Our road closures are situational and will likely only be implemented during the parade," he explained.
