Police Question Two Students Suspected in Wings Air Shooting

Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Chief of Papua Regional Police, Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri, has disclosed that investigators have been questioning two students who were captured during a firefight with an armed criminal group (KKB) .
The two students, identified as MH (15) and GB or GE (15), are suspected of involvement in the shooting incident targeting a Wings Air aircraft at Nop Goliat Dekai Airport.
At present, authorities are interrogating the duo to ascertain whether they are linked to the incident and whether they are affiliated with the armed group, antaranews.com reported.
"We are awaiting the results of the interrogation of the two persons, who are reported to be students," Chief Fakhiri said on Friday (23/2/2024).
Investigators at the Yahukimo Police Office are pursuing leads to uncover the extent of their involvement.
"Regardless of whether they are students or not, if they are implicated with the group, they will be prosecuted according to applicable laws," Chief Fakhiri asserted.
