inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) deployed security personnel to handle today's demonstration by the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI). The demonstration will take place in front of the Indonesian Parliament Building at 10:30 a.m.
"685 joint personnel will be deployed to handle the demonstration in Central Jakarta," said Central Jakarta Regional Metro Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Reynold E. P. Hutagalung, in a written statement on Thursday (1/15/2026).
He explained that today, there will also be a demonstration by the Central Presidium Council of the National Online Motorcycle Taxi Coalition around the National Monument (Monas). To handle this demonstration, 998 joint personnel were deployed.
According to Reynold, all security personnel are not equipped with firearms and are prioritizing a humane and professional approach. He emphasized that the presence of officers is solely to serve the public and guarantee citizens' constitutional rights to express their aspirations peacefully.
"We are here to serve those who are expressing their opinions. Personnel in the field do not carry firearms and are instructed to always prioritize a humane, persuasive, and professional attitude," said Reynold.
