inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. Police have confirmed a smoke situation at the gold mine owned by PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) in Bogor Regency, West Java. Joint officers are currently unable to confirm the conditions inside the site because CO2 levels are above normal levels.

Bogor Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Wikha Ardilestanto, revealed that the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) is already at the mine site to verify the situation on the ground.

"Forkopimda is still on its way to Antam to inspect the location," explained Wikha, Wednesday (1/14/2026).

Wikha emphasized that officers have not yet been able to approach or enter the mining site to determine the origin of the smoke. However, he confirmed that no Antam employees are trapped inside.

"There are no PT Antam workers. Others have not been confirmed," said Wikha.
