inp.polri.go.id - Banten. Banten Regional Police reveal the identity of unknown foreigners who had drowned in Marbella Anyer Beach, Serang Regency last Friday (8/2/204).

The Director of Banten Regional Police Marine and Air, Senior Superintendent Yunus Hadith Pranoto explains that following the police investigation on the case, they found out that the victim was the guest of Marbella Hotel. Hotel visitor data shows that the victim stayed overnight on February 2nd, 2024.

“According to the hotel visitor data, we found the Driver’s License of the victim, and the name is IAKOVOS POUKAMISAS, a Greek, born on February 21st, 1995” said Yunus on Tuesday (8/13/2024).

Furthermore, police found out that the victim was staying in Menland Menteng Blok K5-09 Housing Complex and worked in a private company.

Following further investigation, police found that Iakovos, now named Ahmad after converting to Islam, was trying to commit suicide.

Before committing suicide, Ahmad gave a glass bottle to the hotel security guard with a paper within it.

Iakovos changed his name to Ahmad after marrying his wife, Asti Hertina, back in 2010 in Surabaya, East Java. They were blessed with a son. Later on he married another woman named Nurhayati on August 16th, 2018.

“The initial result of the autopsy shows that there are sands inside his throat, but we still have not determined the cause of his death,” explains Yunus.
