inp.polri.go.id - Batang. Head of Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Brigadier General Agus Suryonugroho conducted a direct review of the Pantura Java route ahead of the 2025 Eid holiday. During the monitoring, he highlighted the condition of the road which was badly damaged from Semarang to Batang.

He emphasized that this condition has the potential to endanger road users, especially ahead of the 2025 Eid holiday.

Agus explained that the many potholes can slow down traffic flow and increase the risk of accidents. Therefore, the Traffic Corps will coordinate with relevant stakeholders to accelerate infrastructure repairs before the peak of the homecoming flow.

"We have explored this route, and indeed there are many damaged roads. If not repaired immediately, this could endanger travelers," said Agus on Friday (2/7/2025)

He further explained that the cause of road damage was due to extreme weather factors and the activities of over-dimension and over-load (ODOL) vehicles. The Head of Traffic Corps emphasized that vehicles that are overloaded or modified beyond standard sizes are serious violations.

"Overload is a traffic violation that can be ticketed, while overdimension is a traffic crime because there is an element of intent in modifying the vehicle outside the applicable rules," he explained.

Through this direct review, INP pledges its strong commitment to taking firm action against vehicles that violate these rules. In addition, coordination with related parties will continue to be carried out to ensure that the road infrastructure used by the public during homecoming remains in a safe and good condition.
