Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) are searching for a missing boat captain, identified as M, following a fire that engulfed two vessels at Marina Ancol Pier 20, North Jakarta, on Saturday .
“The search remains a humanitarian priority, with efforts led by Metro Jaya Police Thousand Islands Police, and Water and Air Police in addition to the National Search and Rescue Agency,” said INP Public Relations Division Head of Public Information Bureau Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko on Tuesday (11/2/2025).
Authorities confirmed six people sustained burn injuries, one person died, and the captain remains unaccounted for. The wreckage has been located at a depth of 2.5 meters and is being retrieved, according to antaranews.com.
Preliminary investigations suggest the fire was sparked by fuel ignition during refueling. The fire consumed 160 square meters of dock space, with damages estimated at Rp6 billion.
