"We are currently investigating the incident and the person claiming to be an officer," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, in a statement on Tuesday (2/24/2026).

Meanwhile, the Head of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's Profession and Security Division, Senior Superintendent Radjo Alriadi Harahap, stated that his team is also investigating the case. The video circulating narrates that the driver of the car was carrying a police officer.

Radjo confirmed that the information is being investigated to determine whether any officers were involved.

"We are still investigating the perpetrator of the assault with the East Jakarta Sub-regional Metropolitan Police Criminal Investigation Unit," he said.
