inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Security Maintenance Agency Marine and Air Directorate arrest four suspects for managing lobster seeds illegally. The four suspects are DS, DD, DE, and AM.

The Sub-directorate Chief of INP Security Maintenance Agency Marine and Air Directorate Law Enforcement, Senior Superintendent Donny Charles Go explains that in this case the suspects operate the lobster seeds management at Rempong Village, Karanganyar, Banten at a fishing place. With naked eyes, the location seemed like just an ordinary fishing place.

“The fishing place was rented by the suspects where one of the buildings was transformed to fit their needs,” says Donny on Friday (10/4/2024).

When officers investigated the location, police managed to seize 134,000 lobster seeds, three cell phones, mini bus, 13 styrofoam boxes, and equipment used for oxygen filling, as well as packaging tools.

He detailed that in this case, DS acted as the warehouse head who rented the place and scout new workers. DD and DE act as a packer to provide re-oxygenation.

"AM acts as the middleman between the land owner and the tenant and the driver to lift the lobster seeds," he said.

The suspects were charged with Law Number 45 of 2009 concerning amendments to Law Number 31 of 2004 in conjunction with Article 92 with the threat of 8 years in prison and a fine of Rp1.5 billion.

"The disclosure of the seeds managed to save the state a total loss of IDR 32,867,600,000," he said.
