inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has intercepted the drug flow of 2.76 kg of heroin, 9.83 kg of crystal methamphetamine, and 114.23 kg of marijuana. In its interception, eight suspects were arrested.

“The drug interception was the result of cooperation and collaboration from BNN, military, police, Customs and Excise, Airport Authority, and ASDP," said Deputy for Eradication of BNN, I Wayan Sugiri on Friday (10/4/2024).

The evidence came from three different cases. The heroin and crystal meth evidence came from an international network, while the marijuana came from Aceh.

I Wayan explained that from the disclosure of the three narcotics crime cases and the amount of narcotics evidence that was successfully confiscated, BNN estimated it had saved 82,310 people from the danger of drugs

"The disclosure of the heroin, crystal methamphetamine, and marijuana smuggling cases is proof that narcotics is an organized global threat, so collaboration between agencies is needed to anticipate the entry of illegal goods," said the Deputy for Eradication.

For their actions, the eight suspects were charged with Article 114 (2) Jo Article 111 (2) Jo Article 132 (1) sub Article 112 (2) Jo Article 132 (1) Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with a maximum penalty of death or life imprisonment.
