Indramayu Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Ari Setyawan Wibowo said that his team had successfully arrested two perpetrators with the initials T (24) and M (24), who were suspected of being directly involved in the assault that resulted in the victim's death.

"In less than 24 hours, we have successfully uncovered this murder case and secured two suspects," said Ari, quoted from Antaranews, Monday (5/26/2025).

Ari explained that the incident began when the victim and the suspects watched a folk drama performance while drinking alcohol, which then sparked a fight between them.

The next night, according to Ari, the victim meets again with the perpetrators and one other person for a drinking party.

He said that while drunk, the victim was then invited by the perpetrator T to the crime scene by a motorbike.

"The victim was taken to the rice field area (in Pagedangan Village)," he said.

Ari said that at that location the victim was attacked by the perpetrators using their bare hands, until he fell and was unconscious.

After falling, he continued, the victim was stepped on the head by one of the perpetrators so that the victim suffered serious injuries to the head and chest due to the assault

From the results of the investigation, the police confirmed that the motive for the murder was motivated by the perpetrator's annoyance towards the victim who was often involved in disputes while they were drunk together.

The police chief said that in revealing this case, the police also secured a number of pieces of evidence in the form of the victim's clothes, a motorbike belonging to the suspect, and two mobile phones.

For this act, he added, the perpetrator T was charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning murder with a sentence of 15 years in prison.

"Meanwhile, the perpetrator M was charged with Article 170 paragraph (2) 3 of the Criminal Code for participating in committing violence together, with a sentence of 12 years in prison," Ari concluded.
