The Central Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi says that the illegal cars who were sold are the cars who were bought through fiduciary criminal actions.
“Suspects bought the fiduciary cars who has not been fully paid by the buyer,” says Ahmad during a press conference on Tuesday (1/9/2024).
The cars, says the police chief, were resold by the suspects with a price below the market without complete documents. Police states that suspects bought the illegal cars from West Java, East Java, Banten, which then compiled in Pati.
Police says that Lengek Squad has 30 members and have operated their organized criminal actions since 2017.
“For their actions, suspects will be charged with Articles 481 and/or 480 of the Criminal Code regarding handling stolen goods," said the Regional Police Chief.
